New technologies such as the PC, the internet, and the iPod are empowering the consumer and the musician while disrupting the recording industry models. The aim of my thesis was to acknowledge how spectacular these new technologies are, and what kind of business structure shifts we can expect to see in the near future. I start by presenting the underlying causes for the changes and go on to studying the main effects they have developed into. I then analyze the results of these changes from the perspective of a particular entrepreneur and offer a business idea in tune with the adjustments in supply and demand. Overwhelmed with accessibility caused by democratized tools of production and distribution, music consumers are reevaluating recorded music in relation to other music products. The recording industry is shrinking but the overall music industry is growing. The results strongly suggest that value does not disappear, it simply relocates. BAB I PENDAHULUAN 1.1 Latar Belakang Penelitian Menurut Stewart L Tubbs “Budaya adalah suatu cara hidup yang berkembang dan dimiliki bersama oleh sebuah kelompok orang dan diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi. Budaya terbentuk dari banyak unsur yang rumit, termasuk sistem agama dan politik, adat istiadat, bahasa, perkakas, pakaian, bangunan, dan karya seni.” (1996:84) Dari pernyataan Stewart dapat disimpulkan bahwa budaya tidak lagi terkait dengan hal-hal yang berada di pedesaan yang berbau tradisional. Saat ini fenomena budaya sudah mulai bergerak ke wilayah urban, dan salah satu bentuk dari kebudayaan urban adalah film. Film sendiri bisa dikatakan sebuah budaya karena industri film telah ada sejak tahun 1927 dan bertahan diwarsikan hingga saat ini. Film juga mengandung unsur-unsur rumit yang telah dijabarkan oleh Stewart. Lebih lanjut, Sumarno menyatakan bahwa “film adalah bagian dari kehidupan modern dan tersedia dalam berbagai wujud. Message from Naoko Takeuchi The Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon musicals, nicknamed Sera Myu, ran from the summer of 1993 until the winter of 2005 with over 500 individual performances, which were hugely popular and beloved by the audience. So here we are, in September of 2013, and I couldn’t forget about the Sera Myu, so I decided to bring it back for all of the staff and fans who loved it so much. This current Sera Myu is very special to me. Every time when I see the sailor soldiers on stage performing in front of me, in an instant, it’s as if they have really come to life. The actresses have managed to recreate the world of Sailor Moon on stage, and although their efforts remain unseen, the energy that the staff has put into this performance is what makes this musical shine. They’ve really nailed it, and have transmitted the message of my original work perfectly. I can feel the strength and beauty of the Sera Myu stage right before my eyes. Please enjoy.
