How much is the cost? $5,500 per person

How and when the payment is due?  You can pay in 3 installments.  The first installment of $2000 is due by December 31, 2017.  The 2nd installment of $2000 will be due on January 31, 2018.  The 3rd and final payment of $1500 will be due on February 28, 2018.

What is included in the fee above?  Air and ground transportation from Columbus-to-Columbus (including domestic and international travel).  Housing at Tagore International House at the campus (Hyderabad, India) for 3-weeks.  A 1-week trip either to North India (including visit to Tajmahal) or South India (ocean beaches and centuries old monuments and temples).  3-meals breakfast, lunch, dinner) during the 3-weeks at UoH campus.  Meals during domestic trip in India.  Entrance fee to museums and monuments.  Tuition fee for 4-credit hours.  Farewell dinner

Course Description

This is a special topic course entitled, “Biological Studies and Culture in India” (BSB-485). You will receive 4-credit hours. These hours can fulfil 1 of the 4 electives required by biology major students. Non-biology major students can use this towards their degree hours.

You will be learning modern biological techniques in the area of genomics and proteomics at the state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Hyderabad, located in the city of Hyderabad, India. During weekdays in the morning you will be attending lectures and afternoon will be spent in lab. You will also experience science by attending other institutions such as, , Agricultural University, ICRISAT, Suajatha College and St. Francis College for Women.

Tentative travel dates and travel plans  You will be flying to the city of Hyderabad (5th largest city of India located in the mid-south part) either from Memphis or Atlanta. We will travel to Memphis/Atlanta most likely by road.  In Hyderabad, you will be staying at the beautiful campus of UoH in Tagore International House for about 3-weeks. Meal plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.  During the weekends you will experience urban and rural India by excursions, world famous Salarjung Museum, and some of the best research centers of the world (e.g., CCMB, ICRISAT).  (a) Travel option-1: Travel by air to city of Jaipur in North India. By train travel to Agra (home of Tajmahal) and New Delhi (historic capital city of India). (b) Travel option-2: By air travel to the city of Madurai (a world famous temple town) in South India, and by train travel to Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari at the tip of Indian mainland and Indian Ocean. Experience beautiful ocean beaches and visit some of the amazing centuries old huge monuments and temples.  Return to Memphis/Atlanta by air. Return to Columbus by road.
