NAN TIEN TEMPLE Overnight Excursions

The Buddhist Awareness Excursion offers students a completely unique place to learn about Buddhism where it is most appropriate. It provides students with a theoretical approach to learning about ‘Humanistic’ Buddhism, to guide them in developing and understanding Buddhism. Providing also a practical approach, Nan Tien Temple also allows students to have fun whilst learning about the religion and Chinese culture. The Buddhist Awareness Excursion allows the teacher to select the most relevant and appropriate activities for their studies.

The cost of this excursion is $85 per student/teacher (GST included). Inclusions:  Guided tour  Relaxation Meditation and Tai Chi  One night’s accommodation in a four share suite with private ensuite  3 delicious vegetarian meals  Ceremonies conducted by the resident Venerables of Nan Tien Temple  A personal selection of 2 cultural activities (see below)

Calligraphy: Practice the strokes of ancient Chinese art

Lotus Flower Folding: Learn the art of paper folding

Basic Buddhism/Specific Dharma Talk: An enlightening talk on the basic aspects of Buddhism or the topic(s) you would like discussed.

Tea Chan: Relax and enjoy tea meditation

 Additional As part of this excursion we provide a special HSC blessing for your students. This is a complimentary service and does not detract from your choice of 2 cultural activities. If you do not require this blessing please indicate on the application form.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read carefully through the Terms and Conditions below before signing. Please inform all participants of Nan Tien Temple’s rules and regulations.

DEPOSIT: Due to the popularity of these excursions, in order to hold your reservation, a non-refundable $100 deposit is required within two weeks of making the booking.

In the case of another tentative booking being received for the same period, you may be contacted and requested to pay the full deposit within 48 hours.

PAYMENT: 3 days prior to the arrival date it is required that the final payment is made and the room allocation list forwarded.

CANCELLATIONS: If notice of cancellation is given: • More than 3 (working) days prior to arrival – Full refund of balance amount

• 48 Hours prior to arrival – 50% refund of balance amount

• 24 Hours prior to arrival – No refund

• A 100% cancellation fee will apply for non-arrivals.

EXTRA CONDITIONS: Where children under the age of 18 are part of a group, adult supervision must be present at all times.

The organisers will be held financially responsible for any damages / theft and or excessive cleaning required. There is also a “lost key fee” of $50.00.

No meat, alcohol or smoking is permitted in the Lodge or on Temple grounds. There is a strict NO PARTY POLICY. Any guests found breaking these restrictions may be asked to leave & all payments and security bonds will be retained.

BUS & COACH DROP OFF & PICK UP: Vehicles with over 54 seats and double decker coaches are required to enter the temple via our Nolan Street entrance.

Please note that no buses or coaches can drive through the temple to the Pilgrim Lodge from the Berkeley Road entrance.
