Welcome to St. Joseph the Worker! St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church is a faithfully formed welcoming community, alive with love for God and one another. We have an unwavering focus on Christ and are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities as members of God's family by sharing and proclaiming the faith. Day by day, we are working toward our goal of growing a vibrant Catholic community of faith for all by embracing our blessings and generously sharing of our time, talents and treasures.

Pastor’s Ponderings

‐ Last weekend, I announced my upcoming departure as your pastor here at St. Joseph the Worker. In July, I will take up my new assignment as pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bolivar and St. Catherine of Siena Mission in Humansville. I expressed to all at Masses my gratitude to God for the blessings He has given me in my time as your pastor. I want to extend my gratitude to all who have in ways big and small been a part of those blessings. While moving on in ministry is something every diocesan “signed up” for at and in a small diocese such as ours packing become a well used skill over the years, I assure you that you will all remain in my prayers. I ask for your good prayers for my life and ministry as I go forward to this new assignment. Entrusting you to the strong hands of St. Joseph the Worker, the loving grace of Our Blessed Mother Mary, and the protection of St. Michael the Archangel, I hope you will set your sights always on the things of Heaven and the call we have all received to become each day who God created us to be. I know you will welcome your new pastor, Rev. Fr. Jose Thundathil, CMI, with open hearts and a thankful spirit to God for having provided a priest and a pastor to serve the parish family in Ozark. ‐ The symbols above the main altar were recovered from a barn on the property of Trinity Hills, our former diocesan retreat and worker farm in Rogersville. They were cleaned and refinished by parishioner Oliver Kramer, who is a professional craftsman. Parishioner Tim Craig prepared the space with paint where they now hang. The Ʌ is the first letter in the Greek alphabet, and ꭥ is the last, representing Jesus Christ as the beginning and the end of all things. The XP are the first letters of Christ in Greek, the center and that which is above all else. May the beautiful reminder be a comfort and consolation to all who look upon it.

To Jesus through Mary, Fr. Scott
