This session will explore the latest fi ndings in hamstring research as well as discussing techniques for hamstring injury prevention and the sports trainer’s role in rehabilitation.

Jeremy currently works at McKinnon Sports Medicine Centre and is a SMA board member and a member of the Australian Podiatry Association. Jeremy has also lectured in the Certifi cate IV in Fitness and keynote speaker First Aid Courses. Dr Peter Larkins Peter is a sports physician and has been the team doctor for the Australian Mr Greg Gibson Track and Field Team, Australian Team, Australian Triathlon Team, Australian Lacrosse Team and was a club doctor for Geelong Greg is a physiotherapist and partner at the Malvern Sports and and Adelaide Football Clubs. He currently practices at LifeCare Prahran Physiotherapy Centre. Mark has predominantly worked within the sports Sport. Troy has worked with various state, national & international teams industry, and is currently coordinator of soft tissue therapy at Geelong and has a particular interest in physiology. He is currently Football Club. Mark has also been a level one sports trainer since 1996 completing his PhD in Aerospace Engineering & Sports Physiology. and has worked with metropolitan, VFL and AFL football clubs. Mark is a lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Tafe in Geelong, teaching short courses in massage therapy. Mr Paul Ford Paul is the former head fi tness advisor for . Ms Joanna Shinewell He has had extensive experience in physically preparing elite athletes across a large variety of sports including AFL football, triathlon, Joanna is a Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist of several years experience and NBL . in the Health and Fitness industry. Along with consulting in a variety of medical and sports medicine centres throughout Melbourne, Joanna is the Consultant Dietitian to , Port Melbourne Football Dr Belinda Gabbe Club, The Victoria Racing Club Apprentice Jockey Training Program, Belinda qualifi ed as a physiotherapist from The University of Melbourne in Melbourne Storm and the Victorian Institute of Sport Squash Team. 1994 and has worked in both the private and public sectors. She completed a Master of Applied Science in 1999 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2002, Dr Lorenzo Masci both in the area of sports injury epidemiology. Currently, Belinda is an NHMRC Public Health Research Fellow in the Department’s Prehospital Lorenzo is a Sports Doctor at Elgin Medical Centre, Alphington Sports and Emergency Trauma Group. Her principal research interests are Medicine Clinic, Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre and for Melbourne trauma and sports injury epidemiology, the prevention of these injuries Storm.
