NAB AFL Auskick Newsletter - August 2009

G’day Kids & Parents of NAB AFL Auskick,

Although most NAB AFL Auskick Centres have concluded for the year, there is still one week to go in the big league and a finals spot up for grabs. Will the bombers or the hawks continue on into September? At the top of the ladder, St Kilda and Geelong have lost two in a row! Does that mean the magpies are now the best team in the competition?

All will be revealed soon but for now, check out some of info and offers below.

AFL Schools

Students from primary school are invited to participate in the 2009 AFL Schools Student Competition. Each of the AFL themed competitions is linked to a particular subject area such as Health & P.E, English, Science and the Arts.

These are great activities to complete in class, especially during the 2009 AFL Finals Series, so make sure that your school and classroom teacher are aware of it.

Summer time is Little Athletics time!

Little Athletics is a great way for children from 5 to 15 years old to stay active, meet new friends and have fun during summer. Little Athletics is a foundation for all sports, with the fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing assisting participants in whichever other sports they like to play. It’s no surprise that former Little Athletes have gone on to succeed in many sports, including in the AFL – players such as , and Shane Crawford were all involved in Little Athletics as children.

Like NAB AFL Auskick, Little Athletics is a community based activity that is run by parents and other volunteers in suburban locations. With a strong emphasis on participation, with the goal to Be Your Best, Little Athletics fosters important values of ‘Family, Fun and Fitness.’

All the best! NAB AFL Auskick
