Entrance to and from the track is via the official tunnel and instructions from officials must be obeyed at all times. The gate will only be opened at the conclusion of racing and passage across the track during a race is not permitted. A fine could be incurred if entrance to the track is gained by any other means than the official tunnel. CYCLE CHECKS: These will be done by the cycle examiners and Commissaires. Spot checks may be carried out at any time. Please make sure that your tyres are glued on and your cycle is fully prepared. You will not be permitted to start if your cycle is rejected. CRASH HELMETS: Helmets of an approved standard must be worn securely fastened at all times while riding on the warmup track or racing on the track. CORRECT DRESS: Suitable shorts, jersey (which must have sleeves) and shoes must be worn while riding on the track or warm up area. You may only wear advertising on your clothing if it is registered on your licence. You cannot wear trade jerseys or an Auckland jersey or skinsuit. You may only wear a New Zealand jersey or skinsuit if you are the national champion for the event you are competing in. Your Club colours are the preferred clothing or else a plain jersey (no advertising). For protection against grazing in a crash, it is recommended that a tee shirt be always worn under the racing jersey. Cycling gloves should also be worn as they provide excellent protection in the event of a crash. Watches or bracelets must not be worn whilst warming up or racing. Results 1.0 2016 Page 4 WARMING UP: Slow riders must keep either above the track centre blue line (which has faded to white at the Manukau velodrome) or to the left on the concrete adjoining the inside of the track. The lower half of the track must be left clear for faster riders. MOTOR PACING: All motorcyclists pacing riders on the track must wear approved crash helmets. This rule applies during race meetings and when training. ACCIDENTS: Accidents will be attended to by St. John personnel or trained officials. All other persons are requested to keep clear. Any rider who crashes and receives first aid or medical attention will require a clearance to be handed to the meeting manager before he/she competes again.
