Title: The Harder They Fall After 17 years as a recognized and respected sports journalist in New York City, Eddie Willis finds himself out of a job when his newspaper folds. He's approached by The Harder You Fall major fight promoter, Nick Benko, to act as a public relations man for his new heavyweight fighter Toro Moreno. Eddie knows the how the fight game works and after watching Toro in the ring, realizes Toro is nothing but a stiff who has no hope of succeeding. Benko offers him a sizable salary The Harder You Fall an unlimited expense account and given his financial situation, he agrees. Benko's strategy to make money is one that has been used time again. Starting in California and moving east, they arrange a series of fights for Toro with stiffs and has-beens. All of the fights are rigged to build up his record and get him a fight with the heavyweight champion, Buddy Brannen, where they will make a sizable profit at the gate. Cotton and her awesome work, I have been a huge fan. I am still trying to catch up with all the books she has written and I am not quite there yet. I have already finished the " Wicked Bay " series though, which has become a favorite of mine, same as this great series "Rixon Raiders" This is the third book in the series and I don't advise reading it as a stand-alone. These books are about three best friend Ever since I first discovered L. These books are about three best friends and they play a huge part in each other's lives and each other's books. Those of you who have already read the previous book, need no introduction when it comes to Mya and Asher. The two out of their group of friends who are still single We all knew they wouldn't stay that way long, the sexual tension between them The Harder You Fall pretty palpable. We also know that they are dealing with some inner demons and in this book we find out exactly what those demons are. Mya is kind of the odd fish out at Rixon High, being pretty much the only colored girl there. People are so narrow-minded and High School kids can be the worst!! The Harder You Fall has never had it easy, which is how The Harder You Fall developed her tough skin and snarky attitude. Sticks and stones and all that shit. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. Especially when people start questioning her relationship with Asher Asher has his own demons to struggle with and he doesn't intend on sharing them with anyone He feels he can tell her everything. But how will they be able to be together, when almost everyone wants to see them apart Especially Mya's past and Asher's future I was really enjoying this one, and even though parts did piss me off a bit, I was still pretty relaxed and mellow Until this book changed its tune that is and I was on the edge of my seat I did not see any of it coming. Now I am gonna be honest The Harder You Fall say there were some parts that were resolved a bit too easily, which is why I am not going for the full 5 stars. I am not gonna go into it though, because that would be a major spoiler. That said, I did really enjoy reading this one and even though Mya did annoy me at times, Asher really blew me away!! But of course, he had his own issues to face and Mya was a lovely addition to the mix I just didn't like how needy Asher was through out the half part of the book, but then I loved how the things end up, even though it wasn't a good turn of events!!!
