IBIDEN to construct a new plant for graphite specialty product in Korea

IBIDEN CO., LTD. (President & CEO: Hiroki Takenaka, Head Office: Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan) will construct a new plant for the manufacture of graphite specialty product (isotropic graphite), one of the main domains of the company’s Ceramics Division, at Pohan-si “Yeongilman General Industrial Complex”, Korea.

Graphite specialty product has been used for mono crystal silicon manufacturing equipment for the fabrication of semiconductor and solar cell, and it’s demand is increasing. IBIDEN is currently manufacturing graphite specialty material and machining product mainly at Aoyanagi Plant (Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture) and Godo Plant (Godo-cho, Gifu Prefecture). IBIDEN is aiming that increasing production capacity and constructing the most suitable global production structure for more future market growth. We deeply considered location and conditions within Asia area that remarkably growing, decided to construct the new production site at Pohan-si, Korea. Outline of the new plant is as followings.
