This year, Gorilla Doctors took huge steps towards improving capacity in the region for veterinary pathology. Thanks to 26 27 28 29 30 31 1 generous donors who made the purchases of key equipment possible, and working over the internet with Gorilla Doctors’ veterinary pathologist Dr. Linda Lowenstine and a dedicated group of volunteer wildlife pathologists in the United States, Gorilla Doctors determined the cause of death in 23 gorillas and other forest wildlife, substantially reducing the www.gorilladoctors.org wait time between when an animal’s carcass is found and when we know why the gorilla died.
