World Sailing News Q1 2021
News | Q1 | 2021 1 World Sailing News | Q1 | 2021 Presidential Welcome It is an honour to introduce you to the first edition of World Sailing News. Upon my election last November, I outlined my intention for World Sailing to communicate better with its Member National Authorities, Regional Associations, Class Associations, Committee members, and the hard-working volunteers that make our sport work, from the grassroots to the peak of performance. I hope that the introduction of these quarterly newsletters will help to achieve that. Open communication within our sport has always been important, but given the current climate, it is more crucial now than it has ever been. It is important that World Sailing takes the lead by sharing best practice, forming new ideas and creating inspiring content that touches all aspects of our sport. It is also vital that this material is well distributed across our community. It is a pity that we have not been able to meet face to face for so long, but I have enjoyed meeting and engaging with you directly and via our Regional Meetings. It is important that our dialogue works two ways so we can work together to grow the beautiful sport we all love. Quanhai Li President 2 World Sailing News | Q1 | 2021 CEO Welcome On one hand, it has been a At the 2020 Council Meeting, I made a pledge to improve very pleasant quarter for the our communication and engagement with our members, World Sailing community as and this new quarterly World Sailing News is part of that numerous sailing events have pledge. -

Advances in Social Science, Education and Humanities Research (ASSEHR), volume 206 2018 International Conference on Advances in Social Sciences and Sustainable Development (ASSSD 2018) Motion Analysis of Hammer Throw Technique of the World Top Female Athletes Liqiang Li1,a,Bingjun Wan1,b,Cheng Guo1,c,Yuliang Sun1,d 1School of Physical Education, Shaanxi Normal University, Shaanxi 710119, China; [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Keywords: hammer throw; kinematic analysis; female athlete Abstract: In order to study the characteristics of the best Chinese female athlete Zheng Wang's hammer throw technique and improve her performance, we used biomechanical video analysis to analyze the technical characteristics of 6 world top female hammer players. We found that in the process of holding the ball, Zheng Wang's double stance and single stance phases in the first, third and fourth turn was reasonable, but in the second turn it was unbalanced. (2) Zheng Wang’s rotation were relatively faster, and rotation was fluent. She was one of the fastest female hammer throwers in the world. (3)During the rotation in the last turn, Zheng Wang maintained the same rotation time as the third circle, which lead to less speed-up, compare with the third circle.(4) During the rotation, the Angle of the fan was basically reasonable, but the increment of the second, third and fourth circle was unstable than that of the previous turns. (5)Through the long-term observation of Zheng Wang's training and competition, it was found that there were some problems in the psychological stability of the competition. -
