5. Venue In the Ore Mountains winter sports has a long tradition. For 100 years, competitions in cross-country , ski jumping and luge races were organized in Oberwiesenthal. The main event centre Oberwiesenthal is located in the Ore Mountains on the border between Germany and Czech Republic. The town is the biggest winter sport resort in the area with 75km of cross-country tracks and over 4000 guest beds. Klingenthal is a well known town in the Vogtland. The ski areas nearby Oberwiesenthal (GPS coordinates 50° 25’ N, 12° 58’ O) and Klingenthal (GPS coordinates 50° 22’ N, 12° 28’ O) are regularly used for international biathlon, cross country and ski jumping events. 6. Classes and entry regulations Ski-Orienteering World Cup Each Federation may enter up to 6 woman and 6 men in each individual competition. The organising federation may have two additional competitors as official world cup competitors for the lowest ranked start group. Each Federation may enter up to 3 teams in Sprint Relay and 2 women´s & 2 men´s teams in each relay competition.

Anti Doping Doping is forbidden. IOF Anti-Doping Rules apply. Doping controls may be carried out at any time during the competition period. Athletes who are selected for the doping test must bring an official identification (ID or passport) with photo to the doping test area. 7. Embargoed areas for orienteering and cross country activities See the maps below for the embargoed areas with tracks “Sparkassen Skiarena” and in Mühlleithen. The embargo applies from 1 September 2015 to 27 January 2016. Cross country area Jahodova is not longer part of embargoed area.

10. Terrain type and opportunities for training Low mountain range with mostly high forest. Altitude is 900–1200 m above sea level. The weekend before a Czech ranking event will be organised nearby. http://lob2016.stopapraha.cz/ Through environmental legislation there will be only a low proportion of scooter tracks and high proportion of very wide, wide and dotted tracks.

11. Description of competition area and weather conditions Cross-county and biathlon area with high proportion of very wide competition tracks and wide tourist tracks. This time of the year temperature range is from 0 to minus 12 degree Celsius. 12. Electronic punching system SPORTident Air+ is used as electronic punching system. Competitors get a SIAC from the organiser. If the SIAC is lost the competitor has to pay 65 Euro. Own SIAC can be used. 13. Waxing facilities There are very limited possibilities for indoor waxing in the accommodation. So we offer waxing facilities at the competition centre. For smaller teams we will provide in the Ski Arena in Oberwiesenthal one small hut. Bigger teams can rent either one of smaller huts (125 € each for 4 days). There are one equipment chance area in Sprint, Middle, and Long.

14. Transport and Parking For your own flexibility we recommend transport by own or rented car. Transport during the competitions is also possible by public ski-bus. Parking is very close to both competitions areas. The price is 10 € for the 4 days at “Parkplatz Skiarena” in Oberwiesenthal. Please pick up the parking ticket in the event centre immediately after arrival. When you not stay and parking in the Waldhotel in Klingenthal, please use the parking automate at the ski stadium too. 15. Registration for World Cup and entry fees

Final entry Deadline for name entry in IOF-Eventor is 10 January 2016.

Pay attention that the IOF Council have decided to implement an Athletes License system starting with the Ski orienteering season 2015-2016.

Accreditation fee is included for World Cup and WMSOC competitors. The accreditation fee for non-competitors (team officials, media etc.) is 50 Euro each. It is obligatory for entry to competitors zone, event arena beside public area, start- & finish area, and service area.

18. Visas For participants from countries that require visas to visit Germany (http://www.germany-visa.org/ ): – Please send a name list for visa to organizers before 15 November 2015! – Visa application forms will be dispatched immediately after receiving the name list.

19. Media service The media centre is located at the finish area during the competitions and at the accommodation after that. Representatives of the media are kindly asked to register too. For accommodation prices the same deadlines apply as for the competitors. In the accommodations there will be WLAN available. Please bring your own hardware. 20. How to get to Oberwiesenthal and Klingenthal/Mühlleithen International airports are found Prague (CZE) 125 km (2 hours), Dresden 140 km (2 hours) and Leipzig-Halle 150 km away from the event centres. The nearest railway station is in Oberwiesenthal.

21. Culture excursion On 25 January there will be the possibility for visiting the German Space Travel Exhibition. http://www.deutsche-raumfahrtausstellung.de The ticket price is 5,50 Euro per person with own transfer. The exhibition is a few kilometres away, about 15 minutes by car.

Non-liability The participation is at the competitors own risk! Competitors are responsible for sufficient insurance coverage. Organizer, host, forest owners, property owners and authorities assume no liability for any damages that go beyond existing insurances.
