Sand Dollar Shores Hurricane Season June 1-November 30 Watch the news and be aware of any potential storms nearing the property. Evacuation from the island is mandatory for any Category 1 and above hurricane. Once the Island is evacuated emergency services may not be available. If you are leaving for the summer please take care of your storm prep prior to departure. The Jensen Beach and Stuart bridges are in Martin County and the opening and closing of the bridges is determined by Martin County. Check the county websites for more information. After the storm has passed access to the Island may be closed to the general public, as a resident you will be required to present documentation which supports the location of your residence at the police check points to return to Sand Dollar. The former St Lucie County Resident Pass (green or orange) has been phased out and is no longer in effect. You will need a driver’s license with a Hutchinson Island address, in addition to a utility bill (showing the same Hutchinson Island address) or current year property tax bill to gain access to the island when the county determines it is safe to do so. If you have a driver’s license from another state, you can obtain a Florida ID card from the driver’s license bureau located at 1664 SE Walton Rd., Port St. Lucie, FL 34952, (772-462-1650). Ensure that Advantage Property Management (772-334-8900) has your contact information, in case of emergency. OWNER RESPONSIBITY Remove items from balcony. If your shutters fail stored items could become projectiles. Close and LOCK all shutters. Remove any items you have on the catwalk, including floor mats. Firmly close storm/screen door. Turn off water if evacuating. Clean out your refrigerator if evacuating. If you are NOT evacuating let Management know. Condo caretakers are recommended for non-resident owner’s. The Association is NOT responsible for securing your unit. The Association website and email will be the primary method of communication provided those services have not been interrupted. www.sanddollarshores.org and [email protected].
