KEN CONGER After a rewarding career as a Virginia game warden and Alaska park ranger, Ken Conger has carried his motivation and enthusiasm for wildlife protection over to his passion for wildlife photography. He has both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. Ken's interest in photography began at a young age and wildlife photography has always been his concentration. The majority of his images utilize available early morning and late afternoon light to capture the natural and beauty of wildlife. His photographs are primarily taken within National Parks and Fish & Wildlife Refuges and are strictly of wild animals within six of the seven continents. His annual treks to remote locations enable him to be inspired, obtain unique images, and to educate, and encourage viewers to connect with nature and consider conservation. A published author and award winning photographer (National Wildlife Federation, National Parks Competition, Sony International Photography Contest, Popular Photography Contest), and receiving “Best in Show” within art festivals, Ken's images have been featured on a number of magazine covers and in numerous nature calendars. BILL AND LINDA LANE Bill and Linda Lane are native Virginians now living in Montpelier, Virginia, with a hideaway in West Virginia where they conduct two of their annual workshops. They are both published and have been conducting workshops together over the past 19 years; ten of those years included workshops for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Photography is a true passion for both of them and teaching photography is their first love. They want to help make photography easy and fun while imparting the skills to get that ‘not by chance’ WOW image. Bill is a farrier by profession and Linda is a big time Dog Rescuer with BARK as well as a potter who needs to get back to her kiln. Bill has over 30 years’ experience in photography and has been featured in numerous publications, fund-raisers and competitions, and has been featured speaker for various groups. His photography took a giant leap after he won the Sierra Club's National Photography Contest. Together they teach at the University of Richmond, and have customized workshops for institutions such as Duke University in North Carolina and the Tandem School in Charlottesville, Virginia. They have conducted numerous workshops on request for Clubs both in and out of state. Eagle Pines Falconry and Raptor Rescue is located in Disputanta, Virginia, whose mission it is to enhance the welfare of raptors. All of the birds at Eagle Pines were injured and could not be released to the wild after rehabilitation. The U.S. Forest Service places the birds with Eagle Pines. They are trained to be comfortable with people and to act as representatives from the wild to promote respect and to inspire conservation
