Lickey Hills 1-0

The next step was a semi-final match against a very good Crown Meadow side who dominated the match but some brave defending from our boys kept the score at 1-0 to Crown Meadow. I was very impressed with the team's attitude and togetherness and they should be proud to have reached the semi-finals in such a big tournament (there were 14 other teams involved!). Congratulations to Jack Mapp, Rio Depper-Gwilliams, Kyi Matthews Smyth, Jack Sargeant, James Eccles, Jamie McKenna-Hobley and 4LH ASH James Benbow. Mr Weston 2MG Chestnut

Language Base Macmillan Coffee morning – Friday 29th September, language base organised a Macmillan coffee morning to coincide with a drop-in session for our parents. The children helped by making delicious cakes as well as LB staff generously giving cakes and bakes to sell on the morning. LB2 pupils even made vegetable soup from their harvested vegetables which were planted in the late spring. Many parents and some grandparents spent time together chatting and sharing their experiences over coffee and cake as well as generously donating to the Macmillan charity. £64.00 was raised in total. LB staff would like to say a huge thank you to parents, carers and staff that supported this event. We let the Standard know too so watch out for an article in the coming weeks! Mrs Jones
