7th Arab -German Education and Vocational Training Forum dbb forum Berlin October 5th - 6th, 2016 Master of CVs Opening Ceremony Ulrich Meinecke Head of iMOVE: Training – Made in Germany at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) , Germany Ulrich Meinecke studied Science of Education and Science of Politics at the Philipps University Marburg. Until 2009 he was working in the field of social and labour relations. He was chief negotiator for collective contracts for blue and white collar workers as well as trainees in the retail and the wholesale sector of the Federal State of Hamburg, on behalf of the service sector union. From early 2009 until 2013 he was Head of Department for Social and Labour Affairs, Vocational Education & Training at the German Embassy, New Delhi. Back to Germany in late 2013 he joined the BIBB, the Federal Institute for Vocational Education & Training, as Deputy Head of the German Office for International Cooperation in VET (GOVET). He managed the “Round Table for International Cooperation in VET”, part of the international strategy of the federal government. Since January 2015, he is Head of “iMOVE – Training made in Germany”. iMOVE was initiated by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research to support the German training industry in its export business. iMOVE is the gateway to the German training industry for governments and companies all over the world. Abdulaziz Al -Mikhlafi Secretary General, Ghorfa Arab -German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Germany Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi was born in Taiz in the Republic of Yemen in 1963. In 1985 he took up the diplomatic service having completed his studies of economics and political science at the University Sana’a, Republic of Yemen. Afterwards he worked as 3rd Secretary at the General Consulate of the Republic of Yemen in Jeddah, Saudi-Arabia. From1989 to 1990 he studied at the Diplomatic Institute in Cairo, Egypt. From 1990 to 1993 he held the position of 2nd and then 1st Secretary at the Minister Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen. From 1993 to 06/2000 he performed as 1st Secretary and Counsellor the position of head of department for economic and consular affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Bonn. Beside his professional activities he completed a Master’s Master of CVs 7th Arab-German Education and Vocational Training Forum programme in the field of political science at the University Bonn. Since 1st July 2000 he has been Secretary General of the Arab-German Association for Commerce and Industry. In September 2004 Mr. Al-Mikhlafi has been appointed Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Yemen. In July 2016 Mr. Al-Mikhlafi was awarded with the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Moreover he was appointed as economic advisor for the president of the Republic of Yemen in August 2016. He is a frequent speaker and moderator in various forums and conferences in Germany, Europe and the Arab World. Mr. Al-Mikhlafi is married and has five children. Dr. Peter Ramsauer President of the Ghorfa Arab -German Chamber of Commerce & Industry , Federal Minister ret., Germany Dr. Peter Ramsauer was born on the 10th February 1954. He graduated from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich with a degree in business administration in 1979, and was awarded a doctorate in governance and public policy in 1985. Additionally he passed the journeyman’s examination in 1977 and the master craftsman’s examination in 1980. Dr. Ramsauer has been Member of the German Bundestag since 1990 and from 1998 to 2005 he was Chief Whip of the CSU parliamentary group and from 2005 to 2009 Leader of the CSU parliamentary group. In the former period from 2009 to 2013 he was Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development. Currently Dr. Ramsauer is Chairman of the German Bundestag’s Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy, and since June 2014 President of the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Dr. Ramsauer is married and has four children. H.E. Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka Federal Minister, Federal Minister of Education and Research , Germany H.E. Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka has been Federal Minister of Education and Research and a member of the Government of Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel since February 2013. Previously, she was Minister of Science, Research and Culture of the state of Brandenburg for nine years from 2000 to 2009 and then Minister with the same portfolio in Lower Saxony from 2010 to 2013. Johanna Wanka worked in research and higher education for many years. After she had been appointed Professor for Engineering Mathematics at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences in 1993, she was elected Rector in 1994, an office she held until 2000. She had received her doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1980 for her thesis entitled "Lösung von Kontakt- und Steuerproblemen mit potential-theoretischen Mitteln ". She served as Vice- President of the Rectors’ Conference in the state of Saxony-Anhalt from 1994 to 1998 and then as a member of the Standing Committee on Planning and Organization of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) from 1998 to 2000. Johanna Wanka had begun her professional career as an academic associate at the Technical University of Merseburg in 1974 after studying mathematics at the University of Leipzig from 1970 to 1974. She had obtained her Abitur to complete her secondary education in Torgau in 1970. Johanna Wanka has been politically active for many years. She was a founder member of New Forum in Merseburg in September 1989, and served as a member of Merseburg district assembly from 1990 to 1994. She joined the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in March 2001, and was elected to the parliament of the state of Brandenburg in 2004, where she served as Chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group from 2009 to 2010. She was also Chairwoman of the party in Brandenburg from 2009 to 2010. Johanna Wanka was born on April 1, 1951 in Rosenfeld (in what is now the state of Saxony). She is married with two children. Nael Al -Kabariti President, General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries H.E. Na’el Raja Al Kabariti, born on the 28th February 1956 holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology from the USA. He is Jordan’s Chamber of Commerce’s and Aqaba Chamber of Commerce’s Chairman. He currently is a member of the Higher Councils of Science and Technology as well as of the Civil Defense Higher Council. H.E. is a Board member of Euro – Jordan Advanced Business Institute (EJABI), a member of the National youth and sport Fund, and of the Advisory Council with the Ministry of Industry and Trade between the Public and Private sectors. He furthermore is Honorary Consul of Turkey in Jordan. Besides his activities as a Counselor on various scientific and economic issues, H.E. also operates as the CEO of numerous enterprises in the sectors of construction, financial brokerage, Logistic Services and Real Estate Investment. To his former occupations count activities as a member of the Jordan senate, the Financial and Economical affairs committee in the Jordanian senate, and as a member of the External Affairs committee in the Jordanian senate. Master of CVs 7th Arab-German Education and Vocational Training Forum Prof. Dr. Reinhold Weiß Deputy President, Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), Germany Prof. Dr. Reinhold Weiss was Born in 1952; studies of economics, economic and social history, economic and business education theory and vocational education theory at the University of Cologne; doctorate at the University of Cologne; honorary professor for vocational education theory at the University of Duisburg – Essen; working at the Cologne-based Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft (“IW”) as deputy head of the Education Policy and Labour Market Policy research department and member of the Managing Board; appointed as Deputy President and Head of Research of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training ("BIBB") in 2005; research is focused on initial and continuing vocational training, company training and personal development, labour market and economics of education.
