PARISH VISION AND PLANNING UPDATE Our Lady of Fatima Parish has a parish council made up of members of our parish and our Pastor, Fr. Phil. The vision of the parish council is “to serve our parish by supporting our Pastor.” The purpose of the council is “to act as a consultative body to our Pastor.” Through pastoral planning, the pastoral council assists our pastor in developing and living out the mission of our parish; forming community as a sign and witness of unity for our larger parish community; providing recommendations for parish priorities, directions, and policies; and promoting communication and understanding among parish organizations and between the parish, the Archdiocese, and the universal Church. In 2015, the pastoral council surveyed our parishioners to get information for visioning and future planning. A large amount of data was collected and used as a foundation to define the parish long-range priorities and goals. Then, in 2016, with the help of the Archdiocese the parish council developed a five-year plan. Three teams were formed to drive these goals, organized around the three priorities that were identified for our parish abbreviated as: Faith, Community and Service. Since then, these teams, under the strong leadership of their volunteer leaders, have executed the vision and made significant progress towards the parish goals. Parishioners were emailed a link to a new survey on May 1st to help the parish council determine how we are doing so far in meeting the goals of the pastoral plan at this third-year junction. Please complete your survey by May 15th. If you would like to receive the survey link via email, please send your email address to [email protected].
