A joint creation of BIRAC, SBTIC and CSIR-IICT The Incubation Centre (BTIC)

CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad in association with Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India and Govt. of has set up a Biotechnology Incubation Centre (BTIC) at Genome Valley, Shameerpet, Hyderabad. The biotechnology incubator aims to provide infrastructural facilities to startups and incubations to facilitate development and commercialization of bioprocesses and products. The BTIC, one of its kind in the country equipped with basic R&D and pilot plant facilities including analytical laboratories and knowledge based service centers under one roof. BTIC facilities meet diverse needs of up scaling of biotech processes. The BTIC society which has entered into an agreement/ MoU with M/s Genome Valley Tech Parks and Incubation Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated under the companies act, 1956, for operation and asset management. The BTIC facilities can be availed by the entrepreneurs on time sharing or lease basis on payment of nominal charges. The major facilities include: 16 R & D l a b o r a t o r i e s available on lease, cGMP compliant pilot plant facilities, common laboratory, analytical facilities, utilities and power back up/UPS with basic laboratory infrastructure. The Society for Biotechnology Incubation Centre (SBTIC) was established in 2009, by Govt. of T.S. (the then Govt. of A.P), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT). The main objective of the Society is to promote biotechnology entrepreneurship and facilitate growth in the Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

Advanced Analytical & Characterization Resource (AACR) Facility The Advanced Analytical and Characterization Resource (AACR) facility is established as a joint initiative of BIRAC, SBTIC and CSIR-IICT to provide analytical services to the biotech and allied industries. AACR facility is well equipped with advanced analytical instruments like FT-NMR (500 Mz), UHPLC-Q-TOF/MS/MS, HPLC and Multimode (UV-Vis, Fluorescence, Luminescence) reader. The AACR facility aims to offer wide range of knowledge based analytical services to biotech, pharma, chemical and allied industries in developing innovative biotech processes and also help in assessing the quality and performance of the biotech/pharma products to meet national and international standards.
