First Response Team ()

The First Response Team is our initial point of assessment responsible for undertaking all Section 47 enquiries and the first part of Single S17 Assessments following referrals from MASH in relation to children and young people within . This is a fast moving service with a rotating duty element co- located with the MASH and the Child Protection Unit. This arrangement facilitates timely information sharing and joint planning to ensure an immediate and prompt response for children and young people.

Safeguarding and Care Planning Teams (Northampton, Kettering, and )

Our Safeguarding and Care Planning Teams work with children and young people who are subject to Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans or subject to Public Law Outline and Care Proceedings.

Our teams work closely with a range of community based services, including the Family Nurse Practitioner Project, Children’s Centres and the Multi-Systemic Therapy Project (MST) amongst other services in assessing and supporting children, young people and their families.

It’s an exciting time to join this part of the service as we implement the Single Assessment, work closely with CAFCASS and the Family Justice Board to improve timescales for the PLO and consider a range of other opportunities e.g. CAFCASS Plus and the Family Drug and Alcohol Courts.

Northamptonshire’s Looked after Children Service (Northampton)

All of the staff within our Looked after Children Service keep children at the heart of all we do. We are committed to ensuring all children and young people who we permanently look after have the opportunities, care and guidance all children need to grow up successfully and confidently. In order to achieve this the service works tirelessly and collaboratively with a range of partners, carers and the young people themselves. The service is responsible for overseeing looked after children’s care planning through to independence.

Northamptonshire’s Leaving Care Service (Northampton)

Northamptonshire Leaving Care Service has been on a journey of innovation to ensure it is in a position to champion and support young people through good pathway planning as they make their transition to independence. The service seeks to work in exciting and creative ways with all Looked After Children and Care Leavers from 16 – 21/25 fulfilling the personal advisor function and assisting young people live independently, access education, employment or training and be healthy, confident young adults.
