Bataan, a light aircraft carrier that was the first WWII vet grand marshal of warship built during the war, used during the war and named after a World War II battle. InMaricopa inaugural Veterans Day Parade Carpenter went aboard in Philadelphia in March 1944, and Bataan set off for the Pacific via the Panama Canal.
