Cookstown Cookstown Enterprise Centre Ltd Derryloran Industrial Estate Sandholes Road Cookstown Northern Ireland BT90 9LU From Belfast via M1: Exit the motorway at Junction 15 (Dungannon exit). Travel through Dungannon and take the A29 for Cookstown at the roundabout. Continue along this road for about 8 miles until you come to a roundabout outside Cookstown. Take the second exit, signposted for the Town Centre, cross over the bridge and take the first road on your left at the traffic lights. There is a large ASDA store on your left. Continue to the end of this road for approximately half a mile turn left at the mini-roundabout. Drive past the Glenavon Hotel and take the first road on your left. Travel about 200 yards and enter Derryloran Industrial Estate on your right. Cookstown Enterprise Centre is located at the back of the Industrial estate beside CPC. From Belfast via M2: Follow the M2 to the end, through Toomebridge, Magherafelt, Moneymore and dual carriageway to Cookstown. At the roundabout outside Cookstown take the first exit into in the town centre. Continue through the town until you come to a set of traffic lights with ASDA on your right and Tyre Safety Centre on your left, Turn right at these lights into Sweep Road and continue to the end of the road, for approximately half a mile and turn left at the mini-roundabout. Drive past the Glenavon Hotel and take the first road on your left. Travel about 200 yards and enter Derryloran Industrial Estate on you right. Cookstown Enterprise Centre is located at the back of the Industrial Estate beside CPC. From Derrry:Derry to Dungiven via the Glenshane Pass to Maghera, Tobermore, Desertmartin and Moneymore. Then follow the directions from Moneymore as via M2 from Belfast. Parking Parking is available onsite. Please note: As satellite navigation systems will only take you to the centre of a postcode area, please do not rely on these alone to find the venue as you cannot be admitted if you arrive late. Please ensure you have checked your route prior to your course .

Smythe-Wood Newspaper Index – “A” series – mainly Co Tyrone Irish Genealogical Research Society Dr P Smythe-Wood’s Irish Newspaper Index Selected families, mainly from Co Tyrone ‘Series A’ The late Dr Patrick Smythe-Wood presented a large collection of card indexes to the IGRS Library, reflecting his various interests, - the Irish in Canada, Ulster families, various professions etc. These include abstracts from various Irish Newspapers, including the Belfast Newsletter, which are printed below. Abstracts are included for all papers up to 1864, but excluding any entries in the Belfast Newsletter prior to 1801, as they are fully available online. Dr Smythe-Wood often found entries in several newspapers for the one event, & these will be shown as one entry below. Entries dealing with RIC Officers, Customs & Excise Officers, Coastguards, Prison Officers, & Irish families in Canada will be dealt with in separate files, although a small cache of Canadian entries is included here, being families closely associated with Co Tyrone. In most cases, Dr Smythe-Wood has recorded the exact entry, but in some, marked thus *, the entries were adjusted into a database, so should be treated with more caution. There are further large card indexes of Miscellaneous notes on families which are not at present being digitised, but which often deal with the same families treated below.
