Big Plantation dates mainly from 1961 and 1965 when it was established with a principally Corsican and Scots pine mix along with a small area of European larch. A small area of the Scots pine with some western hemlock and oak dates from the early 1970s following restocking after a fire. As with lot 2 oak with some sweet chestnut run in belts through the wood and alongside the public road on three of its boundaries. This is another wood with good external and internal access.

About 1.77 hectares has been recently felled. Partially
