The Flying Dutchman, Den Norske Opera & Ballett, until November 21 Richard Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman is the story of a ghost doomed to sail the oceans forever. The curse can only be broken if a woman gives him her love. The production also takes on a broader perspective, linking the Dutchman’s restless curse with the revenge of nature and the colonies on the gross exploitation by the West.
