Keeping Flowing United Utilities West Cumbria water supply project – phase two consultation exhibitions

As you may already be aware and seen recently in local newspapers and TV reports, we’re proposing to invest in the construction of a new pipeline to transport water from Thirlmere to West Cumbria.

The new pipeline will give West Cumbria a new, more reliable and sustainable drinking water supply, capable of meeting the areas future demands.

We’re taking our plans back on the road.

Following feedback during phase one consultation and further engineering work, we’ve now got a single preferred route for the pipeline (see reverse).

However we still need to know if we’ve got it right. We have a long way to go and a lot more consultation to do before we are ready to start building. It's really important to us that we keep you updated as we progress.

Throughout March we will be holding a number of exhibitions so you can view our plans, speak with the team and we can get your feedback on our preferred route, proposed new treatment works at Bridekirk and additional smaller pipelines.
