The Copper Shield is used throughout Northwest Coast First Nations.
This Copper Shield contains the ts’imilx (beaver crest), and represents the Ts’imilx wilp in Nisga’a Society. Amongst other crests used by our People, there is also a Supernatural Beaver and a Supernatural Eagle. A Message from The Nisga’a use animals to identify crest systems developed by our forebears.
