Did you know that Congenital Heart Defects affect more children each year than any other birth defect? I have to admit that until recently we had no idea how prevalent or serious heart defects Tea E. Acuff, MD CRSTI Co-Founder actually are. It wasn't until our daughter, Chloe Michelle, was diagnosed with a serious heart defect that we became aware of this often fatal condition. Of all the things that we feared while we were J. Baxter Brinkmann expecting our second child, heart defects never entered our minds. We were shocked and The Brinkmann Corporation devastated by the diagnosis and immediately went into research mode so that we could begin the Hill A. Feinberg fight to save her life. Armed with information, prayers, and an incredible medical team, we were First Southwest Company going to beat this disease. Mark E. Golman, Esq. Strasburger and Price, LLP Despite the wonderful medical care that we were fortunate to receive, our little Chloe lost her battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She passed away during her second open heart surgery and Neal R. Haile left behind many broken hearts. The devastation and pain that ensued as we broke the news to her Certified Public Accountant proud and hopeful big sister is truly indescribable. At that moment, our lives were changed forever Lt. General Charles R. Hamm and suddenly our family became incomplete. We had questions...So many questions that would USAF Ret. remain unanswered. “Why did this happen to us?” “What caused this?” There really are no Jack W. Hanks explanations. We learned that heart defects do not discriminate...They can effect virtually anyone. Maple Resources Corporation You don't have to be unhealthy or have a history of birth defects in your family for a heart defect to Kenneth J. McGill strike your child. You don't have to be a drug user or act carelessly during pregnancy. What we do Investments know is that our sweet baby girl was lost too soon and that we need your help to try and stop this tragedy from happening to other families. CRSTI STAFF There are many more families than just ours that have been affected by the seriousness of heart Angela G. Riley, RT Executive Director defects. Chances are that if you don't already know someone who has been affected by CHDs that one day you will. In the US alone, they estimate that 40,000 children are born each year with a heart William T. Brinkman, MD defect. Essentially, that means that 1 child will be born with a heart defect every 13 minutes. Medical Director Astounding, right? Now, just think of all the families who are currently hoping and praying that their Michelle R. Bruns, BS, MLA child will win the battle against their heart defect. And, the unfortunate truth is that even with the Director of Education latest medical advances, heart defects still claim far too many lives. According to the American Heart Dan V. Culica, MD, PhD Association, over 91,000 life years are lost each year in the US due to congenital heart disease. Sponsorship packages may be customized to meet your needs.

Why should your company look to become a sponsor for Heart Day on the Square 2008? Each event we hold allows us to raise not only funding, but also awareness for congenital heart defects. The more awareness we are able to raise, the better the outcome will be in raising funding for research. In order to make these events successful, we rely on the assistance of companies, organizations, and individuals. Sponsorships are vital in our efforts to raise funds for research initiatives in the area of pediatric congenital heart defects. While we volunteer our time to make this event happen each year, sponsorships help cover the costs associated with putting on this annual event.

What is in it for your company? Many companies have seen the rewards of utilizing part of their advertising budget by sponsoring non-profit organizations and their activities. This allows companies to not only get their name out to the masses, but it also allows potential customers to see that the company has good will and community involvement. This goes a long way to potential and current customers. Why not advertise and show your support/community involvement at the same time? Your company can feel good about supporting such an important cause as we strive to make a difference for children afflicted with the most common of all birth defects.

Each year we are dependent on our sponsors to help us in our efforts to organize a successful event! We would love to include your company this year!
