2.1.4 Haiti Port of Lafito 2.1.4 Haiti Port of Lafito
Port Overview
The Lafito multipurpose terminal was officially opened in July 2015. For the time being, Evergreen and Seaboard Marine are the only container carriers calling at Lafito. The service of Evergreen is on a weekly basis, feedered with CFS (Caribbean Feeder Services) via Colon / Panama, whereas Seaboard as a regional carrier offers sailings from the US and via their hub in Kingston / Jamaica. In Haiti, both carriers are calling only Lafito. Same as Evergreen, ZIM is feedered by CFS.
The port construction is planned in two steps, the existing infrastructure mirrors phase 1 with a berth length of 450 m and a storage area of 130.000 m². After completion of phase 2 (date unknown), the terminal is planned to offer the double of its existing size, namely 900 m of berth and 260.00 m² of storage area.

Night operations and night sailings are executed.
The terminal management is driven by SSA Marine by using a Tideworks Terminal Operation System (TOS).
