Offered by Hertfordshire-based Newsells Park Stud, the colt (Lot 20) was sold to SackvilleDonald’s Alastair Donald, whose valuation added a crisp £100,000 to the previous Doncaster best price for a yearling which had been achieved on three previous occasions. In 2011 an Oasis Dream colt who became sire Gale Force Ten made £280,000, and that was matched by Galileo Lot 20, the son of Gleneagles who smashed the record price Gold’s sister Choumicha (Paco Boy) in 2015 and, the following at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale when knocked down to year, by last month’s Gr.3 Hackwood Stakes winner Yafta (Dark SackvilleDonald for £380,000. © Sarah Farnsworth Angel). Donald, whose financially robust clients include King Power Racing, has been enjoying a winning run with his sales-ring stand-out horse at this sale and one of the nicest horses I’ve seen at purchases, highlighted by a four-timer on Saturday that included Doncaster in many a year.

  • King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO)
King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Ascot Racecourse Background Information for the 65th Running Saturday, July 25, 2015 Winners of the Investec Derby going on to the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Unbeaten Golden Horn, whose victories this year include the Investec Derby and the Coral-Eclipse, will try to become the 14th Derby winner to go on to success in Ascot’s midsummer highlight, the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO), in the same year and the first since Galileo in 2001. Britain's premier all-aged 12-furlong contest, worth a boosted £1.215 million this year, takes place at 3.50pm on Saturday, July 25. Golden Horn extended his perfect record to five races on July 4 in the 10-furlong Group One Coral- Eclipse at Sandown Park, beating older opponents for the first time in great style. The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. If successful at Ascot on July 25, Golden Horn would also become the fourth horse capture the Derby, Eclipse and King George in the same year. ËËË Three horses have completed the Derby/Eclipse/King George treble in the same year - Nashwan (1989), Mill Reef (1971) and Tulyar (1952). ËËË The 2001 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes saw Galileo become the first Derby winner at Epsom Downs to win the Ascot contest since Lammtarra in 1995.

  • FOR PLESA, a BITTERSWEET ENDING to CALDER SAGA It Has Been Quite the Year for Bated Breath (GB), the Calder/Gulfstream Park West Closed Its Doors on Saturday
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2020 FOR PLESA, A BITTERSWEET VIADERA, BLOWOUT GIVE BROWN ONE-TWO IN MATRIARCH ENDING TO CALDER SAGA Chad Brown stablemates Viadera (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) and Blowout (GB) (Dansili {GB}) took their show on the road, but the result was the same as once again Juddmonte Farms= Viadera got the best of her gutsy rival to win the GI Matriarch S. with a dramatic late surge at Del Mar Sunday. When the duo last met, Viadera was just able to get to the line first after Blowout set a torrid pace in the Sept. 25 GIII Noble Damsel S. at Belmont Park. Blowout zipped out to the early lead at Del Mar Sunday, was clear around the first turn and completed the opening quarter in :22.62, but Juddmonte homebred Juliet Foxtrot (GB) (Dansili {GB}) surged to the lead midway down the backstretch and was two lengths in front of Blowout through a half in :45.63 as Viadera remained unhurried near the back of the pack. Cont. p5 Gulfstream Park West | Ryan Thompson IN TDN EUROPE TODAY TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE DIOMED DRAFT The Week in Review, by Bill Finley Emma Berry speaks with trainer Stuart Williams on MGSW From a racing standpoint, there could not have been a more Breathtaking Look (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}), who will sell as appropriate way for Calder to go out. There when the track ran part of the Diomed Stables draft at Tattersalls this coming its first ever race in 1971, trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr. won the last week.
