The Cardinals have picked 23 college and nine high school players overall during the first 30 rounds of the 2010 draft. The Cardinals second round pick and second selection to hail from Arizona State University was Jordan Swaggerty, a finalist for the 2010 Stopper of the Year award, an award given to the top Division I relief pitcher. Swaggerty joins ASU teammate and Cardinals second overall draft pick Seth Blair. Swaggerty had a 2.05 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched in 2010 and holds the ASU single season saves record with 14. Other notable players selected by the Cardinals in the second day of the draft include catcher Cody Stanley of the University of North Carolina- Wilmington, outfielder Nicholas Longmire of the University of Pacific and outfielder Austin Wilson from Harvard-Westlake High School in Studio City, California.
