ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 Cr. P.C.

In continuation to the order contained vide No. C&S.19/CF/2021/14, dated 19/08/2021 and based on the present situation, it is deemed appropriate to continue with partial lifting of curfew w.e.f 21st to 22nd August, 2021, Therefore, I, Isawanda Laloo, IAS, District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 144 Cr. P.C. do hereby further RELAX and RE-IMPOSE the Curfew in Shillong Agglomeration as follows: Hours for Relaxation of Curfew: (i) 5:00 AM till 6:00 PM on the 21stAugust, 2021 (ii) 5:00 AM till 6:00 PM on the 22nd August, 2021

Hours for Re-imposition of Curfew a) 6:00 PM of the 21st August, 2021 till 5:00 AM of the 22nd August, 2021 b) 6:00 PM of the 22nd August, 2021 till 5:00 AM of the 23rd August, 2021 till further orders

During the period of Relaxation (on the 21st August, 2021 only), the following activities will be permitted:- 1. Opening of essential and non-essential shops till 5:00 P.M. Other regulations as per order No.C&S.2/CVD/2021/ORD/263 dated 17.08.2021 remain. 2. Banks, post offices and other offices which have obtained permission will be permitted at 30% strength and shall close by 4:00 PM sharp. 3. Inter and Intra District movement of vehicles only having valid passes. 4. Movement of commercial vehicles will be permitted and regulated as per order No.C&S.2/CVD/2021/ORD/262 dated 17.08.2021. 5. Any public gathering, public meeting, rally, etc is not permitted. 6. Only activities permitted by the Government vide Home (Political) Department Order No.POL.75/2020/Pt.I/109 dated 13.08.2021 as part of COVID-19 Regulations, will be permitted.

During the period of curfew the following will be prohibited:- 1. Any movement of persons and vehicles. 2. Offices, shops and establishments, and all educational institutions will remain closed. 3. No kind of gathering, public meeting or rally may be held.

As part of COVID-19 Containment Measures, all shops including vendors, Offices, banks, post offices, offices of Educational Institutions and private offices will be closed on Sunday (22nd August, 2021). No public transport will ply. Places of religious worship may be permitted to open as per SOP vide Government Order No.75/2020/PtI/108 dated 13/08/2021. Inter-District movement is not permitted

without valid passes. All unnecessary movement may be avoided.

Curfew Exemptions:- 1. Medical emergencies. 2. Covid-19 and hospital duty. 3. Officers and staff of DIPR. 4. Municipal Essential Services. 5. MeECL Maintenance and Grid operations. 6. Press and Media ( With valid Passes issued by DIPR) 7. Pharmacies.

In view of the urgency of the matter this order has been made exparte. Given under my hand and seal this day the 20th August, 2021.
