Navitas to sponsor the Western Force Super Rugby team
In a first for the leading global education provider, Navitas has today announced that it has signed a sponsorship deal with the Western Force, the Perth based Super Rugby franchise.
Navitas will be a back-of-jersey sponsor for the 2014 season as well as the primary sponsor of the number two jersey as part of a ground breaking move for the Western Force in 2014.
“We were initially approached to sponsor an individual jersey number for the season with the Western Force, as part of an innovative solution following the completion of the partnership between the club and its longstanding major sponsor,” said Rod Jones, CEO of Navitas.
“The concept of sponsoring just a single jersey was quite appealing for a company like Navitas which has never really sponsored sports teams before. It gave us an opportunity as a leading WA based company to help out a leading WA sports team with international profile without committing to multi-year contracts.”
However discussions with Western Force led to a larger sponsorship package with Navitas now a back-of-jersey sponsor for the full Western Force playing squad.
“We realised the benefits of providing a bit more support would be worthwhile and were pleased to commit to a higher level package for 2014. We are hopeful that with a greater level of local support the Western Force can represent Western Australia with even higher distinction in season 2014,” said Mr Jones.
RugbyWA CEO Mark Sinderberry said he was pleased to partner with another strong Western Australian institution.
“Our partnership with Navitas reaffirms our desire to continue to align ourselves with leading Western Australian businesses,” he said.
“We have a strong focus on being an active member of the Western Australian community, and we’re delighted to share this objective with an organisation like Navitas.”
