COVID-19 Vaccine Updates February 19, 2021

Vaccination Sites  There are over 700 vaccination sites available across Florida, including county health departments, retail pharmacy partners , /Sam’s Club and Southeastern Grocers (Winn-Dixie, Harveys and Fresco y Más) and community and faith-based vaccination sites. o Find vaccination sites by county or city and contact information for each location at FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov/Vaccines/Vaccine-Locator.

Faith-Based Vaccination Sites  The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Florida Division of Emergency Management continue to partner with faith-based organizations to host COVID-19 vaccination sites in underserved communities throughout the state.  From January 3, 2021 – February 14, 2021: o 39,413 doses have been administered at faith-based vaccination sites in 16 counties. o Counties: Bay, Brevard, Broward, Duval, Escambia, Gadsden, Hillsborough, Leon, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Okaloosa, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas and St. Lucie.

Statewide Preregistration System  The state launched a statewide preregistration system for individuals 65 and older and frontline health care workers. o Individuals can preregister for vaccine appointments and be notified when appointments are available in their area by visiting MyVaccine.FL.gov. o Each county has a designated phone number that individuals can call and use to preregister if they do not have Internet access. Vaccine Allocations  Total State Allocations (December 14, 2020 – February 28, 2021): o Dose 1: 3,210,930 o Dose 2: 1,978,025 o Total Doses: 5,188,955

Vaccination Data  As of February 18, 2021: o 3,911,999 COVID-19 doses have been administered in Florida. o 2,617,774 individuals have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida. o 43% of individuals 65 years of age and older have been vaccinated in Florida.

Vaccine Distribution Timeline  Safe and effective vaccination is going to take time and is contingent on vaccine supply. The state is committed to providing each priority group and the general public with COVID-19 vaccines as supply becomes available.  FDOH will continue to provide updates on individuals eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines as more information and guidance becomes available.

COVID-19 Outreach  In February 2021, FDOH’s Office of Minority Health and Health Equity led an effort to distribute 1.5 million masks to entities throughout the state that serve disadvantaged and underserved communities.  FDOH is partnering with the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University to provide COVID-19 vaccine information, outreach, education and training to Black/African American Floridians primarily in and select counties in Central and South Florida in an effort to decrease vaccine hesitancy.  FDOH is partnering with the public relations agency Golin to launch a statewide media campaign to educate the public, particularly individuals 65 years of age and older and minority populations, with information about COVID-19 and actions to promote completion of COVID-19 vaccination.

COVID-19 Scams  Individuals who believe they have been victimized by a COVID-19 vaccination scam can report it to the Florida Office of the Attorney General at 1-866-9NO-SCAM or online or their local law enforcement agency. The February 2021 edition, BusinesSafe – COVID-19 Vaccination Scams, provides information on different types of COVID-19 vaccination scams being deployed and tips to protect against them.

Human and Public Services Resources  211 is a resource available 24/7 that connects individuals to essential health and human services. o Call toll-free 2-1-1 or visit 211.org for a free, 24/7, confidential helpline and website.  FDOH COVID-19 Webpage - Public Services Tab o Includes information on Florida’s Community Health Centers, which deliver high-quality, community-based comprehensive health care services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
