FACT SHEET The Project The (Interstate 5) Valley View Avenue Interchange Project, in the cities of La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs, will widen I-5 to add one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), or carpool lane, and one general-purpose lane in each direction from to North Fork Coyote Creek, a one-mile distance. The project also includes widening structures at Valley View Avenue, Artesia Boulevard and Coyote Creek, realigning Firestone Boulevard frontage road, shoulder widening, median barriers, new on-ramp and off-ramp designs. The Valley View Avenue overcrossing will be widened to accommodate a wider freeway.

Summary The Valley View Avenue Interchange Project is the final of six freeway widening projects to begin construction as part of the I-5 South Corridor Improvement Projects extending from the County/Orange Project Costs County line to I-605.
