The project includes 20,400 sf of retail space in two galleria levels and 344,540 sf of office space. Pursuant to Planning Code Section 429, the Project required a public art component valued at an amount equal to one percent of the hard construction costs for the Project as determined by the Director of the Department of Building Inspection. The Project Sponsor has commissioned two artists to provide on-site public art to satisfy this requirement. CURRENT PROPOSAL The artists selected for the public art installations at 350 Bush Street are Zhan Wang and Christopher Brown. As discussed in his biography (attached), Mr. Wang is a Beijing-born sculptor who was a sculpture major at the China Central Academy of Fine Art. His work has appeared in museum exhibitions at the Shanghai Pujiang OCT Ten Year Public Art Project, Shanghai; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai; Asian Art Museum, San Francisco; the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee; National Museum of China, Beijing; and the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing.

For the past twenty-five years, the Arts Council has nurtured and expanded the creative capital in California, awarding more than 20,000 grants in all of California’s 58 counties. 2001 marked a year-long visibility campaign celebrating the agency’s silver anniversary, saw the launch of major new initiatives in Arts Education and Multicultural Arts, as well as expansion in programs to increase the organizational capacity and stability of arts groups. The programs and activities highlighted in this report illustrate the Arts Council’s commitment to promoting the highest quality art made available to all Californians, and its work in supporting the value and positive impact of the arts to our economy, the education and job preparation of our students, and to the civic life of our communities. The Fax: 415.561.5345 largest cash prize for individual artists in the Bay Area, the Foundation’s Eureka www.fleishhackerfoundation.org Fellowships are designed to help artists continue making work by supporting more uninterrupted creative time. These prestigious awards, based solely on artistic merit evidenced by previous work, are not restricted to specific projects. The Foundation also announced that the Fellowships have been increased from $25,000 to $35,000 per artist, beginning with this round of awards. This year’s Fellowship recipients include Berkeley artists Juana Alicia Araiza, Guillermo Galindo, and Vivian Kleiman; Oakland artists Indira Allegra, Sita Kuratomi Bhaumik, Nico Opper, and Ronald Rael; and San Francisco artists Craig BOARD OF DIRECTORS Calderwood, Koak, Viviana Paredes, Genevieve Quick, and Allison Smith. Individual artist biographies are listed below. This award cycle spans three years, with John Ehrlich President awards given to four of the twelve artists per year in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
