Hazelhurst Gallery at the moment and over the school holidays. I'd like to wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

Our extraordinary music students performed in Queensland only last week on their Performing Arts tour. I have heard glowing reviews of their talents and their outstanding representation of our school. I would like to thank Mrs Petrakis and Mr Raper for their outstanding work with the band and Mrs Mountakis and Mr Kotselas who supported the tour last week.

NEWS FROM THE SENIOR EXECUTIVE CONTINUED

I’d like to thank Mr Donaghy and the SRC for their work on our White Ribbon Day Initiative and Breaking the Silence Program. As a result of their vision, organisation and planning our whole school walked against violence towards women for a second year. This year though, we were accompanied by all of the Staff and students from Woolooware Public School, the Principals of Burraneer Bay Public School and Lilli Pilli Public School and their student leaders. Through this action we discovered the strength of our united community who stood up to prevent men's violence against women.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the teaching and office staff at this school. I want to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of this dedicated staff who make extraordinary things happen every day.

NEWS 2015 SPORTS ASSEMBLY

Sport this year at Woolooware has been eventful! We celebrated the achievements of our students at our Sports Assembly in week 8. The guest presenter, Matildas Australian Soccer player, Sydney FC player and former Kirrawee High student, Servet Uzunlar. It was very inspiring to have a local Australian player presenting awards to our students.

We have had a large number of major sporting achievements this year – for a full report on all sports, the annual Sports Report is available at the front office, and will soon be made available on the WHS website.

Some highlights from 2015 include winning the Port Hacking Zone swimming carnival for the 12th consecutive year, with outstanding performances Jump, with Elijah winning Gold in the Shot Put and particularly from Ashley, Lauren, Zac and Jake our 16 years Girls 4 x 100m relay team winning Gold. who finished the carnival as Zone Age Champions. Special mention to Stevie for breaking the Triple Jump record, and Jack for breaking the 90m Hurdles record at this carnival. We performed strongly at Sydney East Regionals and at CHS Ath- letics our team of 14 athletes won 8 medals! Stevie won 2 Gold – in Triple Jump and Long

What a year in sport. Honestly, how can 2016 measure up to a year such as we’ve had. Congratulations to our students who participated in this year's School Spectacular. This year, over 3,600 of the most talented singers, dancers, instrumentalists and actors from 491 NSW public schools took part in the show’s final performances at the Qantas Credit Union Arena.

EXTRACT - NSW PARLIAMENT

I congratulate retiring Woolooware High School at Woolooware High School but also across the State. Deputy Principal Mr Wayne Gleeson on his 38 year He was instrumental in introducing Legal Studies as teaching career. Mr Gleeson has been praised by part of the Higher School Certificate in 1991, and in the school community in my electorate for his 2012 he received a Rule of Law Institute of Australia excellence in teaching, his commitment to helping award for excellence in teaching. He is also a students realise their full potential and his founding member of the Legal Studies Association of contribution to professional development not only NSW. Mr Gleeson will be taking an overseas holiday before the school community formally farewells him. I wish him all the best for an enjoyable retirement.

Mitchell (9) played in the Schoolboys Junior Tennis Tournament for both year 9 singles and year 10 singles recently.

My teaching career started at Concord High School, I started my teaching career a casual teacher at where I was a casual for one year. Woolooware High in 1990 filling in for teachers in the Home Economics department on maternity leave. My first appointment was to Narwee High School In 1994 I was appointed to Canterbury Girls High where I taught for 4 years.
