Watching our ^f-^r 'forest' disappear It's painful watching Sanibel's "forest" disap- pear. It was truly enjoyable driving under that canopy and through the woods on my way to work the past six years, and the countless other times I've driven that stretch of road since I became a Floridian some 14 years ago. The "forest" I'm referring to is that wooded/wild area along both sides of Periwinkle Way which begins, heading west, at the Reel Eel and Sanibel Community Church and ends in the ;: ^^Vvf^Wfs^M^/'^B^T^ vicinity of the Old Schoolhouse Theater/Sanibel Landscape Company and Shell Island Realty, depending on what side of the street you are on.
