January 5, 2020 “Nations shall walk by your light, and kings by your St. Rita Catholic Community shining radiance” -Isaiah 60:3 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas TX 75244 Christmas is for everyone. Christ wasn’t born for just you or just me, www.stritaparish.net but for every single person on the planet—your friends and family, your enemies, unbelievers. Christ isn’t a PASTORAL ADMINISTRATADMINISTRATOROR tribal or ethnic God, but instead the almighty, alpha and Rev. Joshua Whitfield jwhitfi[email protected] omega, the Word through whom all things are created PAROCHIAL VICAR and redeemed. Rev. Michal Markiewicz [email protected] Hence the adoration of pagans, the Magi from PRIEST IN RESIDENCE the East. Hence the Gentiles, you and I, adopted sons Rev. Edwin Leonard [email protected] and daughters of Christ and Israel. Ours is a universal Gospel; we shouldn’t forget that. And we should act PERMANENT DEACONS Deacon Charles Sylvester [email protected] accordingly. Deacon Bill Fobes [email protected] But how? First, we should imitate the docility of Deacon Bob McDermott [email protected] the Magi. They were willing to seek Christ, even though Deacon Chris Knight [email protected] it challenged everything they believed. We should be humble and docile like them. Looking back on his life PASTORAL CENTER STAFF before he became a Christian, St. Augustine said, “I in Pastoral Assistant my pride was daring to seek what only a humble person Mr. Shea Gilliland, x6568 [email protected] can find.” Those are the first things we should pray for, Special Assistant, Pastoral Services humility and docility. Because they necessarily come Mrs. Gena Maguire, x6523 [email protected] before enlightenment, always. Business Manager Second, we should be willing to share the Mrs. Helaine Blizzard, x6513 [email protected] Gospel with everyone we know, everyone we meet. Catholics aren’t Administrative Assistant, Business OGce very good at this sometimes, but we need to be.

Reyes Magos.
