DISTRICT PROFILE INTRODUCTION

came into existence in the year 1994, before which it was a part of district.  Sheohar district is a part of .  Sheohar district is surrounded by the districts of Sitamarhi, , Sitamarhi and East Champaran.  The main rivers flowing through the district are Bagmati and Budhi Gandak .  It is the smallest district of and the second least populous district of Bihar after Sheikhpura.
