Since 1992 Languague Immersion Programme at CEI El Jarama - Live Nature With more than 20 years experience in the business, CEI El Jarama can guarantee that all students will receive a quality learning experience provided by a teaching team that works for us all year round. All our teachers are native speakers of their respective languages and have extensive experience in working with children and young people.

During the academic year, from September to June, CEI El Jarama works both with schools in the Community of Madrid and in other provinces. During the summer, we provide multi-activity, nature, water sports and farm school camps, as well as Spanish and/or English courses for foreign students at our various centres. We also organise English courses abroad.

We invite you to spend a summer in Spain and enjoy the experience of a lifetime. We are confident that if you try one summer with us, you will want to repeat the experience.

Our programmes for foreign students are geared to learning Spanish and/or English as a foreign language, depending on your preference. If you wish, you can choose to take the immersion programme together with the people attending our camps in the Spanish language, or in English. And you can decide whether you want to receive Spanish and/or English classes or not.

CEI El Jarama offers fun and educational programmes to provide students with the experience of a lifetime, while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Accommodation is provided in our facilities in Talamanca del Jarama, where we host 1,200 people on different programmes every summer. You just have to tell us what you need and we will help you put together the programme that best suits you.

Our main facilities are located in Talamanca de Jarama, a district in the north-east of the Community of Madrid, 45 km from Madrid city and 41 km from Adolfo Suárez/Madrid- Barajas airport.

Located in a unique natural setting, the facilities occupy 120,000 square metres in the midst of the riparian ecosystem of Jarama River. This privileged location gives you the op- portunity to be in direct contact with nature and the environment. In addition, we have a building of approximately 2,000 square metres with a capacity to sleep and accommodate approximately 300 children and up to 400 children visiting during the day.

Below you will find more information on our facilities. RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES

CEI El Jarama is situated on an estate on the banks of the Jarama River. Because of this, it enjoys a riparian forest ecosystem, which contrasts with the crop fields beside the facilities. It is close to the rural towns of Talamanca del Jarama, Torrelaguna and Torremocha de Jarama. Just a short drive away you have Patones, El Pontón de la Oliva, the El Atazar and La Parra dams, etc, which are important for their cultural/historical heritage and natural surroundings.

The residential facilities consist of two spacious, modern and comfortable temperature-controlled buildings with dormitories, halls, classrooms, workshops, a kitchen, canteens, assembly hall and bathrooms with hot water and showers. Bed linen is included in the accommodation service.

The centre can accommodate approximately 300 children on a full-board basis in the summer, although the capacity is limited to 200 children in autumn.

It also boasts outdoor facilities and educational areas for conducting nature activities; these were carefully designed to provide a comprehensive range of resources and the best possible learning experience for students studying a foreign language (Spanish and/ or English).

The centre also offers indoor workshops and multi-purpose rooms for carrying out different activities, as well as a photo lab.

DORMITORIES AND BATHROOMS The centre has 18 bedrooms for students divided over two floors of one of the buildings, with bunk beds and lockers for personal items. In addition, there are 6 bedrooms for the people accompanying the group, each having 2 or 3 beds and a private bathroom. The centre has an additional 10 toilets (5 for male and 5 for female students), with washbasins and toilets; these can be found in different indoor and outdoor areas, beside the classrooms, workshops, canteens and multi-purpose rooms.

FULL-BOARD SERVICE

The centre has two canteens of an area of 100 and 75 m2 and a capacity for 95 and 80 diners respectively. Each canteen has an area with washbasins so that the children can wash their hands before and after meals.

The full-board service includes 4 meals: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Picnics will be provided on excursion days. CLASSROOMS AND WORKSHOPS

LEISURE FACILITIES SPORTS GROUNDS – Grass football pitch with two goalposts and fenced perimeter. Sports facilities for indoor soccer, basketball, handball and volleyball, with two goalposts, four basketball hoops and a volleyball net.

SWIMMING POOL

MULTI-ACTIVITY FACILITIES. An indoor climbing wall with two climbing lanes, two bouldering lanes and a fully-equipped zip line and rope bridge.

SLIDES “Bottom-breaker” slide for primary-school children. “Rainbow” giant slide for primary and secondary- school students. Both slides meet the highest re- quirements in terms of safety and conditions of use. THE PROGRAMME

While our flagship summer course for foreign students is the Language Immersion in Spain Programme, which we organise in conjunction with Alcalingua, the Live Nature Programme is designed for students wishing to improve their English. In both cases, they will mainly be interacting with Spanish boys and girls so that they can pick up the language from their new friends and experience a unique cultural immersion in Spain.

The Spanish programmes include cultural visits to Madrid and nearby World Heritage towns such as Alcalá de Henares, Toledo and Segovia. In addition, the Spanish programmes for foreigners include transport services such as airport transfers and travel and medical insurance, etc., in order to facilitate the work of the group organiser as much as possible.

The minimum number of participants is 10. Nevertheless, we also accept individual registrations.
