The Harvest Plan Standard Conditions for Hardwood Forest Operations in South Coast apply to this operation. Description of Proposal Harvesting of Hardwood forest Harvesting of Hardwood forest using Single Tree Selection Silviculture subject to the Southern IFOA requirements will be undertaken within this planning unit. - Timber harvesting in compartment 1153 will be EPL licensed; and - Timber harvesting in compartment 1156 will not be EPL licensed. The primary product of the harvesting is high quality large sawlogs (quota logs), small high quality sawlogs, veneer logs, girders, poles & piles where timber markets are available. Parts of felled logs that do not meet high quality log specifications are segregated and graded into other classifications such as salvage sawlogs, pulp logs & miscellaneous timbers e.g. split & round posts, firewood, mining timbers & craftwood. The availability of miscellaneous timbers depends mainly on forest types, log defectiveness & market conditions at the time of harvesting. Clause 22 – Integrated Forestry Operations Approval (IFOA) Consideration All relevant factors have been reviewed taking into account the volume and monetary value of each forest product to supply Term Agreement Holders. The harvesting operation also complies with Clause 22 of the IFOA. Attachment 1: Site Safety Plan prescribes safety requirements and Medical Emergency Evacuation Plan for this harvesting operation. Road intersections outside the control of FCNSW are not covered by this plan or any FCNSW Traffic Control Plan. Haulage contractors must abide by RTA road laws and standard operating procedures in relation to haulage routes outside the control of FCNSW.     Submission No 52 INQUIRY INTO CLOSURE OF THE CRONULLA FISHERIES RESEARCH CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE Organisation: Shoalhaven City Council Date received: 1/08/2012 SUBMISSION BY SHOALHAVEN CITY COUNCIL TO SELECT COMMITTEE ON CRONULLA FISHERIES CLOSURE Council wishes to make a submission to the Select Committee specifically on the following points: (c) the costs and benefits of the decision to close the Centre and relocate its functions to other locations, (e) any advice received by the Minister on the ability to replicate the Cronulla facilities at other locations, including potential problems and other implications of the other locations, (g) the impacts of service delivery to stakeholders (h) the impact on staff and their families of the closure and the relocation Submission by Shoalhaven Council to Inquiry into Relocation of Cronulla Fisheries Page 1 GENERAL INTRODUCTION Council contends that relocating part of the Cronulla operations of NSW Fisheries to Nowra makes sound economic and social sense. Several major government functions, both State and Federal have made the transfer to Nowra over the last 10- 15 years resulting in over 500 additional employment positions within the Shoalhaven labour force. With in excess of 38,000 persons within the Shoalhaven labour force the area still experiences an unemployment rate of around 9.7% caused by continual population growth and the structural adjustment of new residents into the local workforce. Families are attracted to the area because of lower housing and living costs which are available within the Shoalhaven area. This growth in population and the consequential growth in labour force, requires a continual growth in employment opportunities to be created.

The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP Premier Parliament House SYDNEY NSW 2000 Dear Premier, Report – NSW Bushfire Inquiry In January 2020 you announced the establishment of the NSW Bushfire Inquiry, noting it was to be completed by 31 July 2020. We now submit the final report of that Inquiry. The 2019-20 bush fires were some of the worst in the world and in recorded history. The Inquiry has worked to understand what happened during the 2019-20 bush fire season and how it was different to seasons that have come before. It makes 76 recommendations for future improvements to how NSW plans and prepares for, and responds to, bush fires. Some of these recommendations are for immediate action; others for actions that need to start now but will take some time to complete. Noting the breadth of the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference, the recommendations range from improvements to operational systems and processes through to significant research and strategic policy frameworks that require further development and consultation with key stakeholders. In presenting this final report we wish to acknowledge the assistance of many people – those who took the time to write submissions or talk to the Inquiry; the NSW fire agencies; colleagues from government departments in NSW and other jurisdictions; colleagues in industry, research organisations, and professional associations; and the Secretariat and Advisors to the Inquiry drawn from several government departments who worked hard to help us make sense of a complex matter.
