Founded in 1995 by the Roberts family, their dedication, passion and determination have significantly contributed to the international reputation and popularity now attributed to English sparkling wine.

Throughout their 20-year history Ridgeview have won many accolades including English wine of the year four times and the trophy for "Best Sparkling Wine" at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the only time the award has been given to a wine produced outside of Champagne. The wines have been served by Her Majesty at state banquets at Buckingham Palace and for the official Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations. In 2016, it was announced that Ridgeview are the official supplier of English sparkling wine to No. 10.

The blended wines carry London names in reference to Christopher Merrett, the Londoner who in 1662 first documented the process of producing sparkling wines. The technique is thought not to have begun being used in Champagne by Dom Perignon until 1697.

The house was then managed by three inspiring women, each generation widowed, each generation leading the family winery with remarkable talent and energy. Today our partner-growers give their best to obtain the highest quality grapes at harvest. We apply the same approach in the cellar, using rare methods like ageing our reserve wines in oak vats and extended ageing to bring you the finest quality in Champagne.
