COURSE The object of the course is to develop the professional knowledge and OBJECTIVES understanding of its students, in order to prepare them for appointment as Lt Col rank and higher, both in Command and Staff, in national and multinational units, formations and headquarters. The Command and Staff course is the principle career course for officers and the main focus of instruction is on essential requirements of professional military knowledge: Command and Staff, Tactical Studies and Command, Leadership and Organisation Studies. IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVISE DISPOSAL REVALIDATION COURSE

LOCATION The Ordnance School, Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. COURSE The aim of the course is to revalidate previously qualified IEDD OBJECTIVES Operators and to update them in new techniques, technology and equipment. Instruction is given on Terrorist Devices, New Techniques, Equipment Handling and Render Safe Procedures. Students must demonstrate that they have assimilated the instruction and that they are capable of operating safely, efficiently and effectively as IEDD Operators during practical tests on simulated devices. LOCATION The Ordnance School, Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. COURSE The aim of the course is to revalidate previously qualified IEDD OBJECTIVES Operators and to update them in new techniques, technology and equipment. The Course covers all equipment currently in use with Irish IEDD Teams. Instruction is also given on Disruptive techniques and Improvised Explosive Devices. Students are assessed on their equipment handling ability and general knowledge of IEDD during practical tests. DURATION 2 Weeks.
