SUBJECT: Vote to Surplus Books at Alcott Library

In 2020‐2021, 471 books and other library materials were withdrawn from the Alcott School Library. Books and materials are weeded due to outdated content, worn condition, and updated school curricula.

All school library property stamps and circulation barcodes on the materials were covered with permanent marker and stamped “withdrawn.” Some of the withdrawn books will be given to teachers to use in their classrooms and many will be donated to More Than Words.

Motion: That the Concord School Committee votes to surplus books at the Alcott Library.
