Action 1. Welcome • NJ welcomed everyone to the meeting, and asked for any new County Delegates to introduce themselves. Lesley Roberts of Sonning introduced herself. a) NJ also thanks Temple Golf Club for their hospitality. 2. Apologies a) Apologies were received from the County President, East Hampstead Ladies, Calcot Park, Caversham Heath, Bearwood Lakes, the Berkshire, Mapledurham, Castle Royle, Goring & Streatley and Newbury & Crookham. However, representatives were present from East Hampstead Ladies, Caversham Heath, Reading, Goring & Streatley and Newbury & Crookham. 3. Minutes of the Previous Meeting dated 3rd April, 2019 a) The Minutes of the last meeting were approved. They were proposed by Mary Lush of Sand Martins and seconded by Fran Freeland of Mill Ride. 4. Matters Arising a) NJ gave an update regarding the website. A sub-committee has been formed consisting of the webmaster (NJ), 2nd Team Captain (CK) and County Junior Organiser (SH). They have reviewed the feedback provided by the County Delegates. Will look at possibly introducing data capture, online payments, entering competitions online. The sub-committee will report back to the Exec in the first instance and than update the Delegates at their next meeting in September. b) Jennifer Neill (Winter Hill) advised that reports for new events did not show the date and asked for this to be added. NJ agreed and advised this would NJ make sense and would be added going forward. c) Gabi Heuchel (East Berks) asked about the history of the County competitions and was the decision made to only hold six years? NJ advised that BCLGA has

history going back to 1922 and she is currently working on a project to update the website. 5. Voting Member Regional Representative – NJ a) Golf’s Affiliation fee will increase to £9.50 this year. b) From 1st July, England Golf will be providing Personal Liability Insurance to the value of £10,000,000 per person. Affiliated members will be covered in all countries with the exception of the U.S. The insurance is underwritten by Allianz and provided by BlueFin Sport. Various questions arose from this but IG advised that at this current time, there was no more detail available from England Golf and they will be sending out an update nearer to the date, which she would then ensure is forwarded on. c) England Golf are also reviewing the independent golfer and looking at ways to capture them, by possibly providing official handicaps and/or insurance. d) The Midland South Seniors’ Championship will be held at Temple Golf Club on 8th July. There will be Scratch and Handicap prizes, and anyone over 50 years of age can enter with a handicap up to 20, so please encourage players to enter. 6. Venue Organiser – AP a) AP updated the Delegates following her recent survey, with regard to establishing which clubs provided “courtesy of the course” for County knock- out competitions. She has had eight replies so far, with more yes’s than no’s. There are still some clubs who are yet to respond and advise, but these will be AP / IG chased for their input. Attached is the updated spreadsheet following the meeting from AP. 7. County Match Week a) NJ informed the meeting of the dates of County Match Week. This will be held at Frilford Golf Club from Monday, 17th June – 19th June, and will be played on the Blue course. Berkshire has done well in the past and they have high hopes for this year. All spectators are welcome. 8. Any Other Business a) Forthcoming County Vacancies NJ advised the Delegates that she would be stepping down from the role of Voting Member / Regional Representative following the AGM in January and Muriel Quinsac has offered to take on the role for BCLGA. Muriel has recently joined BCLGA but is currently the Voting Member / Regional Representative for Oxfordshire and will relinquish this role in November at their AGM. IG was pleased to advise the Delegates of the replacements for the roles of the 2nd Team Captain and Seniors’ Captain, in that Sally Collier of Castle Royle will be the new 2nd Team Captain and Tracey Crew of Reading will take on the role of Seniors’ Captain. These will be subject to ratification at the AGM in January. IG also advised that they are still looking for a replacement her role as County Secretary, and if anyone was interested, could they please let her know. b) BACS / Cheque payments IG read out a request from the County Treasurer regarding BACS payments for County competitions. Could the entrants please use a meaningful description for the BACS payments. “There is no need to include your name, as this 2

comes up automatically, nor BCLGA. If entering competitions, please use the descriptor on the entry form.” “Any cheques used for payment for competitions “should now be dated as the closing date of the competition and not the actual date of the competition.” Delegates It was also suggested that an e-mail should be sent to advise the Treasurer. c) Terms of Competitions NJ advised that the updated Terms of Competitions are available on the website. Unfortunately, an old copy had been referenced recently. Ann Pennell (Castle Royle) suggested adding a link at the bottom of the website. NJ agreed to do this. NJ d) Date of AGM – Monday, 20th January at Temple Golf Club The Delegates were asked to note the date of the AGM in January. The start time will be 7.00 p.m. to allow members who work to attend. IG advised that IG food could be available but is subject to numbers. Further information on this will follow approximately two weeks before the AGM. 9. Date of next meeting – 18th September, 2019 at the Berkshire GC at 10.30 a.m.
