A round-up of burglary alerts for the 07/02/15 – 13/02/15:

Nine burglaries in the Horsham District were reported to between Saturday 7 February and Friday 13 February. Properties were broken into in Chanctonbury Close in Washington, Road in , Coxham Lane in , Wild Orchid Way in and Wallis Way, Road, Farhalls Crescent and Plovers Road in Horsham. These burglaries are being investigated by Sussex Police’s Priority Crime Team.

Sussex Police are appealing for Horsham residents to report any suspicious people or vehicles seen to us via the methods mentioned below.

Area Ref Date Details Golf Club

Police were called after a man was seen looking in Mannings 664 07/02 pockets of clothing left in the changing rooms. The man Heath was arrested by police. He has been bailed whilst further enquiries are carried out.

Truleigh Road

791 08/02 A garage in Truleigh Road was broken into sometime Upper between 2pm on Saturday 7 February and 2pm on Beeding Sunday 8 February. The padlock was broken off by the offenders however nothing was taken.

Brookview

Sometime between 9pm on Sunday 8 February and 7am on Monday 9 February two sheds were broken Coldwaltham 146 09/02 into. The door was removed from one shed and the padlock was forced on the other. Various tools were taken along with a bicycle which was later found at the end of the road.

Gaskyns Close

At approximately 9pm on Friday 6 February the occupant of a property in Gaskyn Close noticed the interior light of his Audi parked outside illuminated. A man was seen by the owner sitting in his vehicle. The owner chased the suspect and they fled the scene.

Both vehicles belonging to the occupant, a Range 1529 06/02 Rover and an Audi had been entered by the offender and the drivers doors were left open. Three pairs of Oakley sunglasses were stolen from the Land Rover although one pair has now been recovered.

A small sports car was seen to leave the area at the time of the incident.

Sussex Police are investigating this incident which is linked to further reports listed below and also other breaks to vehicles reported in the Loxwood area.

Furze Road

Sometime between 9:30pm on Friday 6 February and 344 07/02 7:15am on Saturday 7 February a Vauxhall Zafira was Rudgwick broken into in Furze Road. The offenders left the door open after making an untidy search of the vehicle. Items taken include a briefcase, sat nav and iPod.

Queen Elizabeth Road Rudgwick Sometime between 2pm on Friday 6 February and 7am 680 07/02 on Saturday 7 February a Kia was broken into in Queen Elizabeth Road. Items taken include two drills, sunglasses and a gold ring with diamonds.

West Chiltington Lane

At approximately 1pm on Saturday 7 February a parcel 825 07/02 was stolen from a courier vehicle whilst the driver was Billingshurst delivering parcels.

Naldretts Lane

828 07/02 Sometime overnight on 7 February both number plates Rudgwick were stolen from a Vauxhall Corsa whilst it was parked in Naldretts Lane.

Furze Road

Sometime between 2:15pm on Friday 6 February and 9:30am on Saturday 7 February a Renault Scenic Rudgwick 948 07/02 parked in Furze Road was broken into. The offender/s broke the door handle when gaining entry. An untidy search was made of the vehicle and a quantity of change was stolen.

Shelley Drive

At approximately 11:30pm on Saturday 7 February the driver of a Ford Transit van saw the lights flashing on 1641 07/02 his vehicle whilst it was parked outside his address. Broadbridge Upon looking out of the window he saw two men Heath running away from his van. They were then seen to leave in a taxi believed to have been a Volvo V40 Estate with a ‘taxi sign’ on the roof. Nothing was stolen from the van.

Queen Elizabeth Road

Sometime between midday on Thursday 5 February Rudgwick 598 07/02 and 11:55am on Saturday 7 February a lawn mower was stolen from an unlocked garage in Queen Elizabeth Road.

Castle Lane,

Between 7:30pm on Sunday 8 February and 7pm on 146 09/02 Monday 9 February there was an attempted break-in to Bramber a garage at a property in Castle Lane. The metal garage door has been damaged by the offender/s but no access was gained.

Queen Elizabeth Road

A Honda Civic was broken into sometime between 6pm 486 07/02 on Friday 6 February and 10am on Saturday 7 Rudgwick February. The glove box and centre console were searched by the offender/s and an MP3 was stolen.

Woodfield Road

Between 8:30pm on Friday 6 February and 9:45am on 603 09/02 Saturday 7 February a Fiat Punto was broken into and a Rudgwick small coin purse was stolen. The offender/s left the doors slightly ajar.

Rectory Close

Sometime between 1:15am and 7am on Monday 9 935 09/02 February a Vauxhall Van was broken into in Rectory Close. The offender/s smashed a quarter light window to gain entry. Nothing was stolen on this occasion as the informant has been keeping the vehicle empty due to a previous break.

Rectory Close

Overnight on Sunday 8 February into Monday 9 Pulborough 851 09/02 February a Vauxhall Vivaro was broken into in Rectory Close after the offender/s smashed a front quarter light window. The glove box was searched but nothing taken.

Maudlin Lane

Sometime during the 5 days leading up to Monday 9 Bramber 1077 09/02 February an unlocked VW Transporter parked on a driveway of a property in Maudlin Lane was entered and a Karcher pressure washer was stolen.

Gilligan Close

Sometime between 5pm on Monday 9 February and 147 10/02 7am on Tuesday 10 February a quantity of drills and Horsham tools were stolen from a metal box in the rear of a vehicle parked in Gilligan Close. The offender/s had managed to remove the padlock securing the metal box.

Tottington Drive

Sometime between 3pm on Monday 9 February and 232 10/02 8:15am on Tuesday 10 February a window was broken and a rear door forced open on a garage at a property in Tottington Drive. The offender/s gained entry to the garage but nothing is believed to have been taken.

Rivermead

Sometime between Monday 1 December 14 and 773 10/02 Sunday 8 February 15 an attempted break-in to a shed Pulborough in Rivermead has occurred. The padlock on the shed door has been damaged and an attempt to force open the door was made but was unsuccessful.

Friday Street, Rusper

Between 5pm on Tuesday 10 February and 9:30am on 1050 11/02 Wednesday 11 February locks have been levered on Rusper two sheds at a property in Friday Street. Entry was gained but nothing stolen. Garden tools were stolen including a drill, lawnmower and two hedge trimmers.

East Street, Rusper

30 litres of red diesel has been stolen from a tractor whilst parked in an open barn in East Street sometime Rusper 1194 11/02 between 5pm on Tuesday 10 February and 5pm on Wednesday 11 February.
