Ainsworth k Touring Tidbits Hot Springs e Cody -A wild silver rush gave birth to Sandon. At it's height in 1898, Sandon had 5000 Caves residents, 29 hotels, 28 saloons, banks, a red light district and 2 railways which serviced Park 100 mines. The narrow valley of Carpenter Creek made it difficult for Sandon to grow, so Sandon's planners decided to flume the creek, put a boardwalk over top and make it Finish @ one of the main downtown streets. When silver prices declined, so did Sandon.
