GAME 3 at UAB: Nebraska dropped its first game of the season on its first road trip of 2004-05. Joe McCray poured in a career-high 24 points in 25 minutes. It ranked in a tie for seventh on the Nebraska single-game freshman scoring chart and helped him become just the sixth NU

The last time Nebraska had three straight 50-plus rebound games was 1999-2000.

GAME 4 vs. Morgan State: The Huskers started off sluggish, but finished with a flurry as Nebraska held its second opponent in four games to 40 or fewer points. NU used a 23-3 run covering part of the first and second half to break open a game that was tied at 18-all with 5:33 remaining before halftime. The Huskers then held MSU without a field goal for more than nine minutes to open the second half, and allowed just

three field goals in the second period. Aleks Maric just missed his third double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds while Joe McCray led Coach Barry Collier the team in scoring for the third time with 12 points. Maric and McCray, who earned their first career starts in the contest, helped the Huskers to a 47-31 advantage on the glass while holding the Bears to just 23.5 percent shooting (12-of-51) for the game. ¡¢¡ GAME 5 vs. Minnesota: The Golden Gophers held Nebraska without a field goal in the final four minutes to come from behind and snap NU's 16-game homecourt non-conference winning streak. Minnesota trailed by 14 midway through the first half, but chipped away at the lead

GAME 12 at Colorado: The Huskers opened the conference slate 2-0 for the first time since 1993-94 and won consecutive true road games for the first time since 1998-99 while taking down the Buffaloes in Boulder. NU snapped Colorado's 15-game home court winning streak as it held the Buffs to just 34.6 percent shooting from the floor. Nebraska opened a 37-22 lead at the intermission behind 16 points from freshman

Joe McCray. After collecting NU's first eight points, McCray kept pushing the offense as he scored all five of Nebraska's three-pointers in the ¡¢¡ contest. CU mounted a comeback in the second half behind freshman Richard Roby and junior Chris Copeland, who added 20 and 22 points, respectively. But after cutting the NU lead to three points in the final two minutes, McCray drained his last trey at the 1:34 mark and he and

Marcus Neal Jr., who made four straight free throws in the final 60 seconds, helped Nebraska hold off CU. Jason Dourisseau added 11 points ¡¢¡ and seven boards in his best effort in seven games, while Aleks Maric grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds with eight points. 11-0 lead behind two treys from McCray and a three-pointer from Marcus Neal Jr. McCray hit five treys on the day and added a career-high 11 rebounds while producing his first double-double. McCray helped NU to a 42-38 advantage on the glass, while John Turek tied his season high

with eight boards and added 13 points. Texas led by just one point, 50-49, with 4:10 left in the contest before reeling off eight straight points to ¡¢¡ ice the contest. Nebraska had a season-low nine turnovers and limited the Longhorns to 4-of-18 (22.2 percent) from long range.

GAME 14 at No. 2/2 Kansas: After Nebraska rallied from a nine-point deficit early in the second half, Corey Simms had a good look at a the basket but his three-point attempt with two seconds remaining came off the right side of the rim as No. 2/2 Kansas held on for a 59-57 victory in Allen Fieldhouse. Down by two with 20 seconds remaining following a timeout, Marcus Neal Jr. brought the ball to the top of the key where two Jayhawks pressured him before he passed off to Simms for the last shot. Before getting into position for the potential game-winning shot, Marcus Neal Jr.

Wes Wilkinson helped NU to a 24-21 lead at the intermission with seven points in the opening frame before KU came storming back. McCray tied the Nebraska freshman record with his 44th three-pointer of the season, matching the mark set by Eric Piatkowski in 1991.

GAME 15 at Missouri: The Huskers dropped their third straight conference game as Missouri became the first team this season to shoot better than 50.0 percent from the floor against the Huskers. Nebraska stayed close throughout the first half and pulled ahead by four points ¡¢¡ on Wes Wilkinson's follow-up dunk with 19 seconds remaining in the half, but MU scored the final five points including a three-pointer at the buzzer to take a one-point advantage into the intermission. In the second half, Nebraska pulled within one on three occasions midway through the half, but MU used a 17-5 run to pull away and seal the victory. The Tigers hit 60.0 percent from the field in the second frame and ¡¢¡ finished the game hitting 54.3 percent despite hitting just 4-of-14 (28.6 percent) from three-point range. Zeno scored the Red Raiders' first six points of John Turek the game and went on to hit 8-of-13 attempts from the floor and added a team-best nine rebounds. Texas Tech held a 45-35 advantage on the glass, only the third time this season – and first in Big 12 conference play – that NU was outrebounded. Joe McCray and Jason Dourisseau

each scored 12 points while Marcus Neal Jr. and Jake Muhleisen added 11 points. Aleks Maric added eight points and nine boards off the ¡¢¡ bench. GAME 18 at Utah Valley State: Senior forward John Turek hit his first six attempts from the floor and went on to score a career-high tying 24 ¡¢¡ points to lead Nebraska to its fifth 20-plus point victory of the season, 91-57. Turek finished the game by hitting 10-of-14 field-goal attempts while adding a season-best 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.
