ID COMMENTS: Forewings are mottled gray, white, brown, and black. The orbicular and claviform spots are usually elongated, outlined with black and and filled with brown (Munroe, 1972); in our specimens, the filling is often dark. Both the antemedian and postmedian are white. The antemedian is smoothly arcuate or slightly bent from the anal vein to the inner margin. The postmedian is dentate between the costa and the median flexture, but then runs obliquely straight to the inner margin. In our other species of Scoparia, the orbicular and claviform are smaller and the postmedian is is not dentate or strongly angled.
