OFFICE OF THE MAYOR CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, James O. Langfelder Mayor

Springfield, Illinois - The City of Springfield is looking at ways to improve the reliability and accessibility of high-speed internet and broadband in our community. The City has partnered with the University of Illinois Springfield to gather input from Springfield residents about their current speed, quality, and reliability of their household Internet, as well as the role the Internet had on homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City is asking one person in each household within the corporate city limits, who is eighteen-years or older, take this survey. Only one survey should be taken by a household.

Residents may take the survey online at https://go.uis.edu/CoS2021. A direct link is also available on the City of Springfield website, www.springfield.il.us, in the rotating banner. Residents are also encouraged to take the survey while using their primary source of internet, because the online survey has the ability, if ok¶d by the respondent, to capture the current internet speed of the person taking the survey.

To receive a paper copy of the survey, residents may call UIS at 217.206.6343. If you receive a voicemail, please leave a message with your name, mailing address, and that you would like to receive a paper copy of the City of Springfield survey.

As a reminder, no identifiable information will be collected on the survey, and the information is kept confidential. We understand your time is valuable and this survey should take no longer than 5 minutes.

Responses will help the City of Springfield better understand Internet services in our community, and help the City pursue opportunities related to this topic.

This survey will end on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. (CST).
