12th Sunday in Ordinary Time “The Lord is the strength of his people, a saving refuge for the one he has anointed. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. TO ST MICHAEL Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. June 20, 2021 A Note from Fr. Peter

Dear Saint Joseph Parishioners and in particular our Fathers,

Happy Father’s Day.

There are no words spoken by Saint Joseph in the Gospels, but what beautiful conversations he must have had with Mary and Jesus. Perhaps there is something in this for us to think about. Dads, your conversations with your wives and children are of utmost importance. My Dad was a man of few words, even to a fault, but I would say when he spoke it came from a place of prayer and contemplation. Now that he is on his way to Heaven or perhaps even there. I treasure those conversations with him.

Let’s pray in a special way today for all the Dads and Fathers in our beloved parish. We are grateful to you for all you do for so many people.

Saint Joseph, intercede for our Fathers on this day, here at our parish and across our nation.

God bless you all,

Fr. Peter

ANCIENT PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH

Oh, Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interest and desires.

Oh, Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh, Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him close in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Saint Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for me. Amen. Parish News
